The Campus

In 1972 George Mason University became an independent member of the commonwealth's system of colleges and universities. Since then, the university's development has been marked by rapid growth and innovative planning. Employing the revolutionary concept of the "distributed" university, George Mason acquired the George Mason University School of Law and a campus in Arlington in 1979.

The Arlington Campus programs emphasize law, policy, economics, conflict resolution, social work, nonprofit management, initiatives in educational transformation, and global studies. Read More About the Arlington Campus

Message From the Arlington Assembly

"I am committed to fostering a better academic community and would really like to see George Mason's different programs become more integrated. I plan to work with all of the programs found on the Arlington campus to circulate a bulletin to inform the entire student body about what events may be happening in each of the programs. I intend to set up
social events, such as happy hours, in order to foster mingling amongst the students. I would also like to get a student discount implemental at Cosi since we compromise a large portion of their clientele. In addition, I would like to set up a website, like craigslist, where the Arlington body can post ads for roommates, selling a car, offering a job, and so forth."
