Biography and Candidate Statement
Hi, this is Hsien! I’m a graduate student and currently studying Software Engineering. As someone who is an international graduate from Taiwan, I understand the difficulties of being an outsider. I believe that the voice of students from all backgrounds deserve to be heard. I plan to promote support for marginalized groups and supply as much as equal access to the resources to great opportunities GASPA can provide. As a member of the GASPA,I hope to improve the quality of life on and off campus. I want to work with the school administration in order to give more internship and work opportunities for international students. Spring 2022 is my first semester in Mason, I’m beyond surprise how many various events are held during the semester. The opportunities for students to connect with others and plan for future jobs are outstanding. I want to continue this work and make the most out of it. I hope to help as many students to succeed in the fields they are pursuing. I look forward to representing all of the students to the best of my abilities.
Will you be able to meet the time commitments and expectations of the position? Describe your probable availability for the 2022-2023 academic year, as well as other on-going time commitments (e.g., classes, work, organizational involvement).
Yes, I can meet the time commitments. I’m a full time student with three classes next semester without any other work, which gives me enough time to commit to GAPSA.
