Thank you to all the candidates for their interest in serving the graduate and professional student community at Mason.

The GAPSA Executive Committee is elected from the graduate and professional student population at George Mason University. All degree-seeking graduate and professional students in good standing at the university are eligible to run for one of the five Executive Officer positions on the committee. Elections were held in May 16-18, 2018.

Voting will begin on May 16, 2018, at 12:00am, and end on May 18, 2018, at 11:59pm.

Election results will be announced on this page on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.

On the ballot, you may write in potential candidates, who will then need to submit an application in order to be considered in the special election.

Voting Instructions

To vote, visit the GetConnected website. You will be prompted to log in with your Mason NetID and password to access the ballot. After logging in, click on the VOTE NOW button next to “Graduate and Professional Student Association (GAPSA) Elections 2018-2019.” Voting will open on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at midnight and end on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 11:45PM.

GAPSA Executive Officer Elections Process for 2018

Interested graduate and professional students should review the Executive Officer Candidacy Information Packet in full, as well as the Graduate and Professional Student Association Constitution. In order to be considered, candidates must submit a Candidacy Application Form and Additional Required Application Materials (see Executive Officer Candidacy Information Packet for details about both) by the deadline in order to be considered.

Elections Timeline:

  • Applications available: Tuesday, May 1, 2018
  • Applications due: Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 5:00 PM
  • Election dates: Tuesday, May 15, 2018 – Thursday, May 17, 2018 Wednesday, May 16, 2018 – Friday, May 18, 2018
  • Election results announced: Monday, May 21, 2018 Tuesday, May 22, 2018

To Become a Candidate for Executive Office:

  1. Read the Executive Officer Candidacy Information Packet and the Graduate and Professional Student Association Constitution.
  2. Submit the completed Candidacy Application Form and Additional Required Application Materials (brief biography and candidate statement; description of ability to meet time commitments and expectations) by Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 5:00 PM. Details about both items and submission instructions are included in the Executive Officer Candidacy Information Packet.
